Happy New Year

Dear Meditators

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Let us make 2016 a year of growth, shared happiness and inspiration.

Here is a great New Year saying for you to think about... "Go for what you want, not for what you know you can get.”  It's time to think of what you want to do in 2016. Go for what you want and desire.  Instead of running away or putting obstacles in the way, embrace what you want. Ride the wave of the unknown and take a leap.

Once you have worked out what you want - see it as if it has already happened,then go for it because you know you can. Be Fearless, be present and Nature will support you especially when you meditate twice daily.

Thousands of years ago Buddha sat under the Bohdi Tree and gained enlightnment. He took time to contemplate and meditate whilst under the tree of knowledge and wisdom. Let us be as Budda was - take time out to be alone to contemplate and become aware of the quietness that is growing inside us from our meditation practise.  We too can become enlightened when we sit quietly. 

Now while you are taking time out alone perhaps under your own tree, look around at what your senses are showing you. Look at the Sky and at Nature.  Become acquainted with the feeling of the stillness inside, where is it in your body? What does it feel like?  Our goal as Meditators is to feel the quietness on all levels of consciousness - waking, sleeping, dreaming and in meditation. This quiet place inside bring you closer to the real truth of who you really are in every moment.

Let your mind wander to see what it is you really want in your Spiritual life and in your Relative life.


Our Group Meditations and Sunrise Meditation are on again in January.  The Beyond Thinking Meditation website is having a complete overhaul and upgrade. Sewing life gives seeds

There is great feeling of excitement when you start something new or achieve something you have always wanted to do.  It could be a new adventure, new job, new relationship, a new baby or reaching the goal you set for yourself.  But there could be another side to these feelings which often come into play during these times such as doubt, stress and anxiety.

Negative emotions and feelings stop us from enjoying the moment and feeling happy.   The energy changes from high grade to low grade, we feel it and the people around us feel it.  Our attention and energy go in different directions and can spiral downward very quickly rather than a feeling of elation and happiness we can feel sick, panic, stressed and less confident in ourselves.
 
So why do negative thoughts find their way into our thinking process?  It happens when we are tired and when our bodies are not rested enough, when we mal-adapt in a situation (fight or flight) due to an overload of stress, when we are not eating healthy food, when indulging in too much alcohol or substance abuse, when we are in relationships that are not healthy or life giving.   I’m sure you have your own list of negative thoughts. 
 
Here is a check list on how to begin sewing new life giving seeds:
1)      Come to the present moment by coming back to our senses what am I seeing? what am I  
          hearing? what am I feeling? what am I tasting? what am I smelling? 

2)      Be self referral – look at ourselves and mind our own business.

3)      Go to bed at a reasonable hour – Ayurveda recommends 10pm – Rest and sleep are
          important for normalizing and rebalancing the brain and body functioning.

4)      Eat healthy foods – visit a nutritionist who can start you on a healthy eating program to
          suit your physiology.

5)      Never entertain negativity when speaking to someone or about someone - look for the
          pearly whige teeth in the other person and in all you say and do.
 
Positive life giving thoughts come from letting go of old thought patterns, allows new confidence to flourish.  We don’t hesitate or second guess ourselves, we just go.  

With clearer, calmer minds we see new things coming in our direction quicker.  The feel good hormones begin to flow in the body bringing a feeling of excitement, happiness and bliss.  New energy begins to flow through the body when our senses are raised, we enjoy the fullness of life.   By paying attention in the present moment and being fully open we adapt and respond smoothly without hesitation, we dive into the unknown confident that whatever is happening is for our highest good.   Life giving seeds come from our creative intelligence, our Inner Being, from our twice daily meditation practice.

“Who Am I?” I am not my Mind, my Body, my Emotions.

Recently I was with people who described how they saw particular people in their lives.  An older lady was described as being Nervy she didn't cope with problems in her life. Another was a young man he was described as a Scallywag - someone, especially a child, who has behaved badly but who is still liked.  Another person felt they were seen as "not being good enough."  Coming from their own perspectives and perceptions of these people, were they correct?  

Yes, we do observe people and judge them from our own perspective. This helps us to make decisions, to discern and to determine our responses. We do this in relationships and with situations where we need to make a judgement.  However when these judgements or descriptions are spoken about by ourselves or from others in a negative way this is destructive and can be damaging.

If we place too much importance on how other people see us and what they think of us we can loose touch with our own perspective of Who we really are.  Taking on board what others think of us can lead to negative thinking about ourselves and becoming needy.  It is also a way of giving the other person or situation the control over us. 

If we look at this from another perspective - that I am not my Mind, my Body or my Emotions then how do I know Who I really Am?

Am I more than my Mind, Body and Emotions? The answer is yes, when we meditate something physically happens - we go beyond the relative world to dive deep into our consciousness, into Being. Pure Consciousness, Pure Contentedness. Scientific Research have proven that Meditation is a completely different state of Consciousness where the brain waves are completely rested and yet we are fully awake.  

When I experience this state of quietness and calmness called Being inside of Meditation as well as outside then I know intellectually that there is much more to me. My Creative Intelligence tells me this, Nature shows me another side to me. My awareness of Who I Am through the process of daily Meditation is clearer. I become stronger and more confident because I experience the truth of who I really am.  I go beyond needing to know what other people think of me.

"I am a Spiritual Being having a human experience."
